John Sakalowsky has been a lifelong athlete. He started racing bicycles at age 13 and continued to race full-time through college and internationally thereafter, until he retired in 1997. He is a relative newcomer to Nordic skiing, starting in 2007, and he followed the CSU program to become a capable, competitive Masters skier. John coached for the Eastern Mass Bill Koch League for the last 7 years and has worked with many skiers who went on to CSU. He is a NENSA-certified coach. In his spare time, John races bicycles, runs marathons, and plays the ukulele. He wants his athletes to build an enduring passion for endurance sports and to develop to their fullest potential, whether that is high-level competition or simply enjoying being outdoors with friends and family.
